Is There A Fire I Can Put My Feet In?

Is it strange that sometimes my favorite part of a trip is the drive back home? Today we spent a lovely, but excruciatingly cold day in Oxford and on the way back I settled into my coach seat and listened to music while the rest of the Temple crew did the same and shut their collective eyes for an hour or so of sleep. This caused me to feel a great sense of calm, as that sort of thing usually does. When I think back to time I’ve spent on the road taking road trips or touring, some of my favorite memories are the nights when I was taking a turn at the wheel and everyone else in the car/van/bus/train was fast asleep. I think the maternal instinct in me is greatly satisfied in knowing that the people I’m surrounded with are safe and content, peacefully dreaming on our way back from a destination that until a few hours prior, was the unknown. I can think of no greater comfort.

Irresistibly Awkward

I enjoy drinking tea, creating art, story-telling, interesting characters, awkward moments, and life. If you have any questions, just ask.
